About Us

Our Mission

It is the purpose and goal of the Colonial Quilt Lover's Guild to promote and perpetuate the art of quilting. The work of the Guild is designed to benefit and educate all persons interested in preserving, continuing, and advancing this art. The Guild shall encourage a high standard of design and technique in all forms of quilting and shall promote the art of quilting by teaching and sponsoring exhibits.

Upcoming Events

Saturday April 21st “Day of Sharing"

A special day to share the love of quilting with quilters from around our state. The public is welcome to share with us techniques, ideas and adventures. Please bring your quilts to show in our “Show and Tell”. Pat Sloan, a pattern designer and author, will be our quest speaker for the day. We will provide lunch for all participants.

Pat Sloan is a quilt pattern designer and book author, radio/podcast show host and fabric designer. She has designed fabric for Moda and P&B Textiles. Her books are published by Leisure Arts and Martingale. In addition to publishing her own patterns, she has designed patterns for all the major quilt magazines, like American Patchwork & Quilting, McCall's Quilting, McCall's Quick Quilts, Quilters World, Quilting Arts, and the Fons and Porter magazines. She lives in Fairfax County, Virginia. 

Day of Sharing will be held at The Corinth Baptist Church, 1035 US 17, Elizabeth City, NC.  The doors will open at 9:00 am with the event starting at 10:00 am.  Lunch will be provided.

Project Linus

Project Linus mission is to provide love, a sense of security and warmth to children who are seriously ill, traumatized or otherwise in need through the gift of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteers known as "blanketeers.” If you are a resident of Northeast Coastal NC and want more information about Linus Quilts please contact Carol Cooper or Gloria Roberts through the following Contact Linus form.

Comfort Quilts

Comfort Quilts mission is to provide a sense of love to seriously ill, seniors in health care facilities and otherwise adults in stress that handmade quilt or afghan may help their quality of life. Military Quilts

Military Quilts mission is provide combat, wounded soldiers and local veterans touched by war with a comforting and healing quilt made with love and respect. Military quilts work with local VFW, area veterans hospitals and health care facilities to distribute their quilts.
